Product Update – Acer Netbook Computer
| Last week I presented a new product, the Netbook Computer. These are very small, ultra-portable laptop computers. These Netbook computers are great if you like to have a computer with you wherever you go. No, they are not small enough to fit in your pocket, but some might actually fit in a larger woman’s purse (the purse being larger, not the woman). | |

They are true/real computers. They have the full version of operating system, not a slimmed down feature set. They are just very small and have only the most needed accessories built in, not all. They have wifi, built in web cam, USB ports and card readers for downloading pictures. Additional accessories, such as a CD/DVD drive you have to buy and carry separately. Most of these additional accessories you do not need. For instance, instead of a CD/DVD drive you can transfer data from another computer via ethernet or wifi. You can even “share” its CD/DVD drive. |
| Last week’s model, the Acer Aspire One AOA110-1588 is only $237. It has a lot of great features, including built in web cam and wifi, but it is a starter model with only 16 GB of memory and 2 1/2 to 3 hours of battery life.
For only a little bit more ($279.99 – less than $300), you can get the Acer Aspire One A150-1447. It has all the same features as the other model, but 160 GB hard drive and 5+ hours of battery life. |

| With that much battery life, you can download a few videos from iTunes and watch them on the airplane, or you can sit in a coffee shop and have a video chat for hours with family or friends on the other side of the country (or world)! | ![]() |
